The Power of Gratitude in the Workplace

“Gratitude is like a flashlight. If you go out in your yard at night and turn on a flashlight, you suddenly can see what's there. It was always there, but you couldn’t see it in the dark.” By Dawna Markova.
The power of gratitude is that it can quickly create a ripple effect of gratitude, appreciation and recognition in the workplace. Gratitude begins with each of us, when we appreciate others, their efforts, their diverse skills and personalities; we create a shift in our organizational culture.
I recall consulting with an organization that ranked “exceptional” on the gratitude scale. The culture was one of respect, synergy, safety to learn and take risks, and appreciation. I noted that the team worked efficiently, effectively and presented exceptional customer service, it is no wonder their customers keep coming back- they appreciate and value their customers!
What are you doing to be grateful? How do you model gratitude at work?
Teams that are inspired and that bounce forward™ are ones who create the ripple effect of gratitude.
